What happened to StreetCheck?

Last checked 12 August 2026.

StreetCheck was acquired by CrystalRoof. The acquisition was announced on CrystalRoof’s blog on 23 March 2026, and streetcheck.co.uk now returns a permanent (301) redirect to crystalroof.co.uk. The StreetCheck site, with its free single-page postcode reports, no longer exists as a separate service.

If you were a StreetCheck user, the practical change is the access model. StreetCheck showed everything it had on one free page. CrystalRoof (as observed 11 August 2026) offers substantial free sections, but places some content behind a subscription – priced at £7.99 per week, £12.99 per month, or £29.99 for three months at that date – including its noise section, resident reviews, some overview rows, and full map interaction, and shows a sign-up prompt when opening report pages.

If you are looking for what StreetCheck used to be – a free, complete, no-signup area report for any UK postcode – that is exactly what AreaChecker is: crime, deprivation, income, schools, transport, house prices, demographics, broadband, air quality and constituency politics on one page, built from official Open Government Licence data with the source and date shown against every figure. No account, no paywall, no blurred sections.

You can also assemble the same information yourself from the official sources – data.police.uk for crime, GOV.UK for flood risk, HM Land Registry for sold prices, Ofsted for schools – they are free and authoritative, just spread across many sites.
